Project Manager – Municipal Infrastructure - Water/Wastewater
Location: Richmond, CA Compensation: $125,000 - $165,000 USD Overview We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead municipal infrastructure projects in the Greater Los Angeles area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil construction, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and diverse teams. 5+ years of construction project management experience for a General Contractor
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering, or related field
Experience in water/wastewater infrastructure and process mechanical systems
Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams on active job sites
Solid knowledge of civil infrastructure: earthwork, structural concrete, underground utilities, mechanical systems
Proven ability to manage contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and project budgets
Skilled in schedule development, cost control, and manpower planning
Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills
Demonstrated commitment to safety compliance and job site best practices
Comfortable supervising and mentoring engineers and field staff
Nice to Haves
Familiarity with sustainability practices (QSP, SWPPP, LEED)
Proficiency with tools like Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Primavera, etc.
Background in preconstruction, client proposals, or business development
Responsibilities
Oversee and execute all phases of municipal infrastructure projects from preconstruction through close-out
Set the strategic tone for projects, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and schedule
Lead project planning, scheduling, and procurement activities in collaboration with superintendents and trade partners
Manage job-specific buyouts and submittals in coordination with estimating and executive teams
Monitor and control project budgets, change orders, and financial forecasting
Implement safety, quality control, and environmental programs with site leadership
Conduct regular site visits and meetings to ensure progress, safety, and quality standards are met
Foster positive working relationships with clients, consultants, and agency stakeholders
Coordinate internal teams, including Project Engineers, Field Engineers, and Accountants
Ensure strict compliance with contractual obligations and notice provisions
Report progress and key metrics to the Project Executive
