The City of Springfield’s Department of Environmental Services is seeking applicants for a Professional Engineer position (option to underfill as an Engineer III). The position may focus on some or all the following areas:
The ideal candidates will seek innovative solutions and have a technical background in water resources, environmental, sanitary sewer, stormwater, or wastewater engineering. Experience in project management, hydraulic modeling, GIS, and/or data analysis is preferred.
About the Department of Environmental Services
Environmental Services is responsible for protecting the quality of the water resources in and around Springfield. Environmental Services manages over 1,200 miles of sanitary sewer infrastructure, two award winning wastewater treatment plants, water quality compliance with the City’s municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4), and the regional municipal landfill. In 2021, Springfield was highlighted as 1 of 13 municipalities in an EPA report to Congress with an implemented Integrated Plan for the Environment.
